Scope of Service

  1. Provide Palliative home care service to patients with life limiting illness.
  2. Respect patient as an individual and acknowledge that each person has their own psychosocial issues.
  3. To provide care with empathy, sensitivity and with compassion.
  4. Teach the family members and caregivers on how to manage patient’s pain and distressing symptoms.
  5. To maximize the quality of life of patient in the time that they have and not lengthen their sufferings.
  6. Loaning of relevant Medical Equipment, for example Hospital Bed, Hospital Mattress, Ripple Mattress, Wheel Chair, Oxygen Concentrator and more, free of charge.
  7. Educating patient’s family members and caregiver on Basic Nursing Skills
  8. Providing Bereavement support to the families of the patient after the passing of the patient.
  9. Kasih Hospice trained hospice volunteers visit patients in government hospitals and at home to provide companionship and emotional and spiritual support. Our trained volunteers also run the Day Care Centre in Ward PCU,Selayang Hospital.
  10. Educating public and volunteers on Basic Hospice Care and Philosophical aspects of coping with grief and loss.

KHC team of doctors. Nurses and trained volunteers provide the services free of charge and without any strings attached.

Criteria for Acceptance under KHC home hospice care :

  1. Advanced Cancer – Stage 4
  2. End Stage Renal Failure – not on dialysis
  3. Resides in the area of coverage of Kasih Hospice Care Society. (List as Below)
